I think the answer is yes. To all options!

It depends on the engine manufacturer, the size, the fuel system design, etc. There are many options for fuel supply, I wouldn't call any of them right or wrong, but they are specific to the situation.

I don't know that many are running around the Lakes with a pump per cylinder, but there are both mechanical and electrical. There are also gravity fed with an engine mounted pump.

On a main diesel, how does a fuel pump work, what drives it to pump fuel? Mechanical? Electrical? Separate fuel pump per cylinder? Have watched some videos and looks like an Electrical motor/pump per cylinder, but these are huge diesels, and what do I know.
