You would have to ask the companies about that information. Good luck getting them to tell you. Some are at company owned docks so cost is lower. Their value still outweighs the cost of keeping them around.

I’ve said before that you will never see fast Eddie sail again. The way the steel industry is headed and the cost to get the ship up and running again and also the other ships that are at the wall Clarke,Anderson, callaway, valo, michipicoton may not sail again either. This is just my opinion and a few years ago I was almost wrong when they were getting the ryerson ready for service but that didn’t end up happening.

It’s more economically feasible to just build a new self unloading barge. The cost of renovating any of the “ old” hulls just doesn’t add up. Cargo demand does not warrant the expenditure.

I didn’t say that she would be returned to service. I just said that if she was, it would be converted to diesel. Lower Lakes said as much when they purchased it.

Where’s the cargo demand to spend millions to get her ready? Only trip will eventually be a to scrap yard

It is definitely possible that she could be returned to service. Any parts stripped or removed from her steam plant and turbines would not matter since she would be converted to diesel in the event that she was returned to service.

Would it be possible for the Valor (Armco) to ever return to service or more likely it will just be kept as dead boat value. Wasn't the Valor stripped of many parts years ago?

This has been discussed and explained before. The dead boat vessels still represent value on each companies balance sheet. They have value above the costs of keeping them

Also what about the future of the John Sherwin and the C.T.C. No.1? If none of these ships will ever sail again why are the owners keeping them around and paying dock fees etc?

I’m sure that once any decisions are made about these boats, it will be big news around here.

Updates? None I’m aware of. Future of those boats? Dead float until scrap tow one day

Are there any updates as to the future plans for any of these ships?

Thank you in advance
