There was a photo posted in the Port Reports earlier this week that showed the bow of the American Spirit as it made its way into Toledo for lay up this week on January 20. In that photo, I can now see and have a clear view and picture as far as where some of the vessels in lay up are now located at in Toledo. At first, I did not know where two of the VanEnkevort tug & barges were laid up at in Toledo but now I do. So, unless anyone wants to add or share where exactly the laid up ships in Toledo are at, I now have all of the information that I need at this time. Think you in advance for any further information anyone has or can provide.

In looking at the AIS Maps today on both Boatnerd & Marine Traffic, I do know that all 3 of the VanEnkevort Tugs and Barges have now arrived in Toledo for Winter Lay Up. However, only the Tug Joyce L. VanEnkevort and their Barge Great Lakes Trader I’ve figured out where in Toledo they went and laid up at. The Clyde S. VanEnkevort and Erie Trader and the Dirk S. VanEnkevort and the Michigan Trader, both look and appear from the AIS Maps to be laid up at the Torco Slip and Wall where the Kaye E. Barker is currently. So, my questions are mainly if my information is correct as far as both the Clyde and Dirk along with their respective barges laid up with the Kaye or are they at some other location in Toledo then? If my information is incorrect, then can someone from Toledo please give and provide a full detail of where the Clyde and the Dirk exactly are at? Again, I may have already figured it out but I just want to be 100% sure and certain and also to have total confirmation that my information is correct. Anyone that has or can provide any type of information for me is very much appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Several vessels have now arrived in Toledo for Winter Lay Up now and I think I have all of their locations figured out from the AIS maps. Thanks again to everyone and all again for your help and your replies and responses.

Thanks everyone for your responses on my Toledo Lay Up questions as your information and answers helped out considerably! After posting my questions here on this forum and board, I did a search and found a video of the Clarke being moved next to and alongside the Anderson to make way and room then for the American Mariner. I also saw photos of the laid up ships in Toledo on both Facebook and Instagram so that also helps as well. Regarding the Clarke’s move recently and now being alongside the Anderson. The photos and video of that move does not specifically say exactly when it took place other than on a Thursday. So, my thinking is that they shifted and moved thr Clarke then on Thursday, January 8 before the American Mariner arrived for Winter Lay Up on January 14. Obviously they could not have IMO anyway at least have moved the Clarke on January 14 or 15 as the American Mariner by then would have already arrived on the 14th for lay up in Toledo then at that point. If anyone can confirm if I am right with all of this information, please leave your comments here and let me know. I also see that today the tug and barge combo Dirk S. Van Enkevort & Michigan Trader arrived for lay up in Toledo on January 17. They appear to be in front of where the Kaye E. Barker is laid up at on the Torco Wall if this all appears to be correct then?

Yep looking at them right now. Clarke and the Anderson are rafted together south of the Mariner. The Kay Barker is on the south side of the torco slip, Sykes is unloading at torco and heading to Dearborn

FYI a few days ago the Clarke was moved across the slip to make room for the Mariner. The Clarke is now moored alongside the Anderson.

In checking out the AIS Maps it now appears that the American Mariner is now moored and docked at the Torco Slip astern of the Philip R. Clarke now. The Kaye E. Barker still appears to be moored and laid-up at the Torco Dock Wall across from where the iron ore pellets are unloaded at the main Torco Dock then. Can anyone please confirm if my information is correct or not? Thanks in advance for any information anyone may have on this.

In looking and viewing at the AIS Maps on both Boatnerd and Marine Traffic websites, three vessels at least have arrived on January 14, 2026 for lay-up. The Paul R. Tregurtha at the Midwest Terminals of Toledo Dock, while both the American Mariner and Kaye E. Barker arrived for lay-up at the Torco Dock. I’m a bit confused as far as the locations and docks that both the Kaye E. Barker and American Mariner are located at. From what I can best make out on the AIS Maps, it would appear that the Kaye E. Barker is moored in across from where they unload the iron ore pellets at the main Torco Slip. Also, it would appear the American Mariner is laid up across from the slip where the Philip R. Clarke is at and the Arthur M. Anderson then would be astern of the Mariner? Can anyone confirm if my information is correct or not on this? Any pictures or videos of the ships in layup that shows exactly where they are and how they are moored and laid up in Toledo would be very much and greatly appreciated by anyone.
