I see the Stewart J. Cort on AIS this morning, April 9, 2026, cruising along at 12.7 knots along the south shore of Lake Superior off of Munising heading toward Marquette while on its way to Superior. Is this due to weather or ice conditions in the lake? At the same time the Dirk S. Vanenkevort and Baie St. Paul are out in the open lake off the Keweenaw Peninsula heading eastbound. Just wondering why the Cort is hugging the shore of Michigan's Upper Peninsula rather than taking the more direct route across the lake.
