You can find a list of vessels passing by any location or port by going over to the Boatnerd AIS website.

From the menu, select Vessel Passage, and select Port, from the menu. All the vessels are timestamped, and you can also search by vessel. The only thing missing is an entry for a date range.

The Vessel Passage on the Boatnerd site is different and only links a single port, perhaps the webmaster of the boatnerd site can add an additional URL link to point over to it, as both websites are the same organization, but run with different volunteers on each .

Thanks Alan as I just tried it but I don’t seem to be having any luck so far trying to find or access any of the information on the website. So with that said I think I’m just going to drop the issue along with my questions then. Since I wasn’t watching any of the Soo webcams on EDay due to me being out on the St. Clair River, I guess it don’t matter or mean too much to me anyway right now. If anyone cares to somehow provide any list of ship traffic through the Soo Locks from 9 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. then on Engineers Day I’d appreciate it. From a few photos I’ve seen on the USACE Facebook Page, it would seem & appear that the Edwin H. Gott along with the salty Federal Minnesota both were there during the Engineer Day stuff? I thought the Munson and the Algoma Intrepid and salty Kamenitza all went through there as well. Wish somebody had photos or videos to where I could find all this stuff out at!

Hey Denny. I can't answer your specific questions, but you can review vessel passages through the Soo locks on the USACE website. You should be able to narrow down the ship traffic based on date and time. The data is listed for the past 30 days. Hope this helps.

One of my questions has been answered. It was from 9 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. then. However, I am still looking for answers and information as far as my other questions. For instance, what ships were up at the Soo for Engineers Day, were Visitors allowed across the Lock Gates? Finally, was Portage Ave. closed and shut down along with any other of the streets at the Soo during Engineers Day and also the weekend itself then ? Thanks.

Can someone please provide and give a detailed list of the ships that would have been through the Soo Locks during the Engineer’s Day yesterday, June 26 as it would be very appreciative and helpful? Thanks so much in advance. I was up on the St. Clair River yesterday and was busy and never had the time, chance or the opportunity to look at the Soo Web Cams to see what ships were there. I thought I saw and read on a Facebook Page, the Edwin H. Gott, John G. Munson along with the Algoma Intrepid and salty Kamenitza were all there along with the brand new USACE tugs as well. Again, if anyone has a list and can provide it here I would very much appreciate that and thanks. A few more questions I’d like to ask about the Engineer’s Day Weekend & Festivities. First, what are the hours now from 9 A.M. until 3 P.M. as far as when it starts and ends? Second, were visitors allowed to cross the Lock Gates this year? I thought I read and heard that no they could not cross the gates due to the new lock construction going on? Third, was Portage Avenue and any streets in downtown closed off and down and if so for how long? I’ll betcha that had to be tough getting around town then! Lastly, when they did do and have the International Bridge Walk up there at the Soo? Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions. Very much appreciated if anyone can help me out!
