These photos were taken last week from Wilson Hill Island, just south of Massena, NY, soon after the USS Edson transited the Eisenhower Lock, slowly headed upstream toward Lake Ontario.

Just for those of you who may be interested in going out on the passenger vessel Princess Wenonah to great the arrival of the USS Edson out in the Saginaw Bay and follow her in to the dock, Bay City Boat Lines is offering a cruise for this:

Tickets for the Princess Wenonah cruise to greet the USS Edson go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Bay City Antiques Center, 1020 N. Water Street, Bay City.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased with cash or check payable to Bay City Boat Lines. First-come, first-serve, no holds, no online sales available. Departure is flexible and will be announced when finalized.

Thanks Guest for the update. Hopefully they will make it up in the St. Clair River before it gets too dark tomorrow night. Also, they could be delayed somewhat due to severe thunderstorm forecasted overnight tonight into early morning on Sunday.

Passed Long Point at 1219, gave 0800/5 for Southeast Shoal. Moving slow - daylight passage at Detroit River, nighttime for St. Clair.

As of 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, August 3 they have now cleared the Welland Canal and have a present ETA for Long Point, Ontario of 1200 hours on Saturday, August 3. From Long Point I don't know how long it takes to get up to Detroit along with the Port Huron area. Also, times are estimates due to weather and any delays in traffic along Lake Erie, Detroit and St. Clair Rivers. Weather may be a factor now as severe storms are in the forecast for late Saturday night into early Sunday morning and this could slow down their transit time.

As of 9:35 p.m. on Friday, August 3 they are now halfway through the Welland Canal and are currently at or near Lock 4 heading up in the Flight Locks. Their ETA for Lock 8 is now at 0358 hours on Saturday, August 4. Times are estimates and can change due to weather and traffic delays at the Welland Canal Locks.

As of 3:35 p.m. on Friday, August 3 they are nearing the entrance to the Welland Canal at Port Weller. They have an ETA for Lock 1 at 1741 on August 3 and they are due at Lock 8 at 0258 hours on Saturday, August 4. All times are estimates due to weather and any traffic delays in the Welland Canal.

As of 10:35 p.m. the Seaway's website now has them listed with an ETA for Lock 1 at 2056 on August 3. Their ETA for Lock 8 is at 0613 on Saturday, August 4. All ETA's are pending on weather and any traffic delays in the Seaway and the Welland Canal Locks.

She met her 4:43 AM ETA for Eisenhower almost exactly when she went through this morning.

Got some pictures of her after locking through when the light got better that I'll send into the news page in a bit.

She passed Cardinal upbound at 1100

As of 8:30 a.m. on August 2 she has an ETA for the Iroquois Lock at 0925 on August 2. She is due at Lock 1 of the Welland Canal at 0413 on Friday, August 3 and has an ETA for Lock 8 on August 3 at 1330. Again, this is all pending on weather and also any traffic delays through the Seaway and the Welland Canal Locks.

The phone was updated about 12 hours ago. The current ETA for Eisenhower Lock is 4:43AM as of 7 minutes ago.

Just was on the St Lawrence Seaway Development url, and they are saying between 0600 and 0800 on their phone service, 315-769-2422. Current too much?
The url from the gift shop at the locks show 0747 for the lock at Iroquois. Just at bit of discrepency.

At 9:15 p.m. on August 1 the Seaway now has them due at the Eisenhower Lock just before 3 A.M. on August 2 and they are now due at Lock 1 between 12:45 and 1 A.M. on August 3rd. They are due now at Lock 8 at 1000 on August 3rd all of this is pending on weather and traffic through the Seaway and the Welland Canal.

Leo to answer your questions, I go to the Seaway's website under Commerical Shipping and click on that. From there is a section for Vessels in Transit and you just click on that. This will give you all the locks on the Seaway and just click any of them for ETA's at certain locks. Hope this sounds easy for your to find. Good Luck.

As of 5:45 p.m. the Seaway now has them due at 0137 at the Ike Lock on August 2. Their ETA for Lock 1 at the Canal is at 2329 on August 2. They are due at Lock 8 at 0846 on Friday, August 3rd. Not sure when this would put them up in Detroit or Port Huron?

Denny, where'd you access that info on the Seaway's website? Used to be right on the vessel map accessible via Boatnerd's vessel passages page until they revamped it a year ago or so.

According to The Shipwatcher's Blog and NorthCountryNow, SLSDC is giving an ETA of around 7-8AM Thursday for Eisenhower.

Midnight tonight doesn't sound too far off to me though after following their progress today (Although sadly that means it will be passing by me in the dark).

According to the Seaway's website the USS Edson along with the tugs Ecosse and Colonel are due at the Eisenhower Lock with an ETA for 2344 on August 1. They have a present ETA for Lock 1 of the Welland Canal at 2136 on August 2 and they are due with an ETA for Lock 8 at 0653 on August 3 if they are no delays and the weather is not a problem.
