Please note that Boatnerd was started back in 1995 and it's the many volunteers working late at night, literally, and in their homes getting this thing off the ground, and allowing us 'nerds to come out of the closet, have gatherings, etc. The world headquarters at Vantage Point is icing on the cake.

Informative and interesting article this morning from the Buffalo News. Yes, for me the boats hold a high fascination and each one seen (which is a rare treat for those of us in SE Wisconsin) is awesome and beautiful. The excitment I feel when I observe a 'boat' or saltie' upbound on the St. Clair River or downbound out of Lake Huron cannot be described as other than pure joy! 4 'salties' and 1 'boat' seen and photographed last week on annual trek to MI. Frank Fisk's vision (not to mention his knowledge) for Boat Nerd and the ongoing 'work' of the myriad of volunteers is deeply appreciated. Thank goodness for Boat Nerd with headquarters located in my hometown of Port Huron. Thank you all!
