Don't think I can help much but knew of this lady. The grain elevator furthest upriver was Saginaw Grain. The one next downstream was Michigan Elevator Exchange (Farm Bureau Services) now owned by ADM. Neither elevator loads grain ships anymore because of size and draft requirements.
The smaller ships that could call there have all been scrapped. They loaded grain to go to Bae Comeux, Port Cartier, etc to supply grain for top offs of Salties. Another casualty of bigger and more efficient!

Used to be a lady on the CB radio in that area in the mid-late 70s. I think she went by Lucy. Never met her, but we talked often when I was in the river or if traveling on I-75. If I remember correctly, she lived very close to the old Zilwaukee/I-75 drawbridge.

Trying to locate a person by the name Lucy that used to hang around boats that came in to Carrolton in the Saginaw River at the grain elevators I believe one of the elevators was named Farmers forget the name of the other one. there used to be a bar (tavern) across the road from it Any help would be appreciated
This lady was a real boatnerd in the 70's and 80's
