I think it may have as I seem to recall either seeing a photo of her with the Weir name and in Columbia colors somewhere or else reading about that as well. You might want to try checking out the Fleet Histories here on this website. Just go to the main page and look under the heading Fleet Histories. Then you have to scroll down the list to where it says and shows a list of scrapped vessels. From there, look for American Fortitude as that was its last name before she was scrapped. You might then find an answer to your question possibly? Hope that my information helps!

Did the Ernest T. Weir ever sail in Columbia fleet colors prior to being renamed Courtney Burton? I seem to recall seeing it one time passing St. Clair, Michigan, during the late 1970s with the Weir name but in Columbia fleet colors.
