Boatnerds and shutterbugs thronged along the shores of the St. Clair River this morning to capture the moment as the USS Detroit passed, on her way to her christening in Detroit.

Those further down river had better lighting for good pictures, but being there was the main thing for most people.

Robert S. Pierson (no current destination) led the up-bounders.  I intercepted Pierson at several locations, but was always a bit too late to get a head-on shot!
