I'm not sure if Algoma Steel will be building a pig iron plant to provide iron for their EAF or not. If they don't, then yes, that would be the end of iron ore pellet movements to Algoma.
BTW, the Canadian Federal government and the Ontario have been trying to entice Dofasco in Hamilton with monetary incentives to convert their steel mill to EAF. From what I understand, Dofasco is looking at using hydrogen as fuel in their raw steel production instead of moving to EAF.
