I spoke with the director of the Door County Maritime Museum on Friday, November 12th, and he indicated that there will be 17 Lake Boats laid up for the winter at Sturgeon Bay this winter. Bay Shipbuilding's dry dock is fully booked through the end of March. The Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment and the ABS office in Sturgeon Bay expect to be very busy this winter with all of the lake boats that are laid up and having work done on them.

The Alpena was removed from the large graving dock on Friday and was tied up on berth 15. The Alpena was repainted and looks pretty sharp. The Lake Guardian is still in the floating dock and it also received a new paint job along with other work.
