Island Skipper and Stefania I. Great looking class of ships and they're likely not going to be around for much longer; many of their sisters/cousins have already gone for scrap.

For those not familiar with the appearance of the Palau and her sisters, I have posted a pic in my album on the Public Gallery.

I definitely agree on the "Pal" sisters. Wish I'd seen them with their loads upbound.

At the start of the summer, the BBC Rio Grande was our favourite (my wife & I). But she and the BBC Mississippi made too many trips on that windmill tower shuttle that they ran, and as a result the entire BBC fleet became "ho hum" to us. Even though we liked the colours and the ships seemed well cared for (externally anyway).

Also enjoyed watching the Happy Rover load at Port Robinson (in the rain) in May. Another heavy lift ship, this one in a nice bright yellow.

And the ship that I most Want to see is the Eide Trader expected in Quebec on Dec 28th.

The 2010 shipping season was one of the best in recent years for foreign ships. The 2010 shipping season was also a great year for new comers to the Great Lakes. What is your favorite foreign ship to visit the Great Lakes in 2010?

I would say the the Palabora, Palembang and Palau are my top favorite salties of 2010. They had a design not seen before to many of the Great Lakes. I also enjoyed seeing the Island Skipper, Tuscarora and the Olympic sisterships. Its also great to see a few older salties make trips back to the Great lakes.
