Re: Photo Software

Guest
I use a FREE program called "Faststone Image Viewer", and have been doing so for many years. I have posted thousands of images on several vessel information sites and find this program more than adequate. There are also several others and I have never paid for photo software.

S.S. Lady Hamilton

Does anyone know where I could view or buy a photo of the S. S. Lady Hamilton ? I believed this small ferry sailed between Hamilton and Toronto in the forties and fifties.
Thank You

Re: Algoma Harvester - problems ?

Appears to be some major cracking in the casing of the rudder. Welding in Buffalo did not seem to be the answer. This is not the only Equinox vessel affected.

Re: USS Fitzgerald collision with the ACX Crystal

The more I read in these articles, the more I realize how little I actually know of a life at sea. There are some very knowledgeable and seasoned sailors that are very carefully reserving any and all judgement as they weigh each additional fact coming forward. It is actually refreshing to realize ho...

Re: CWB Strongfield & Eqinox Updates

As troubling as this news may be, I am far more concerned with just how well "One of Canada's Best Managed Companies" is able to stifle the press, or at best, simply not come forward with this news. The fact that this information has had to be presented to us anonymously through this forum...

This was a genuinely welcome sight today as the Algoma Enterprise was maneuvered into the dry dock at Port Weller. She was assisted by the tugs, Lac Manitoba
and Vigilant I.

Re: Any Apps?

I use the Marine Traffic.com app on my Samsung that allows tracking and locating all ships that are using AIS. It gives me a real-time view of the Welland Canal and basically anywhere in the world. I think it was approx. $10. but worth every penny. I say real time, but there is often a lag of a few ...

I think this is the centennial flag for St. Catharines, Ontario 1976. Could be wrong but I remember seeing this as a kid. Thanks to everyone that responded. It was indeed a flag from the '76 Centennial in St. Catharines. I was able to pull out a coin token from the centennial and the back of the co...

Algoma crews began training on March 3rd in Niagara and will leave for Nantong, China on March 8th. Barring any complications, the Harvester should head home to North America early April.
None of this is official.
