I thought it is quite interesting this vessel has been cruising up and down the North side of Isle Royal all afternoon instead of anchoring like the rest. Any ideas?

I haven't seen any mention yet, but I would think it is more exhaust pulse than vibration. This being from the silence on the Duluth piers until the boat passes and then exhaust throb.

The trademark of steamers is a pipe at the rear of the funnel that is the atmospheric vent for the spent steam from the auxiliary equipment like pumps, generators and etc.

All the different deck top unloading gear is really interesting to view and compare! Also, the pic of what was the last two Hullets in situ was a welcome sight. Great photos Jon Paul!

I think it may have more to do with the propulsion system. Ice through the jet drives could be like a bird strike to an airliner jet.
