Re: Corps of Eng. tug

Here is a short video of the slip where the tug is moored, as well as a crane barge sunk just ahead of it. There is also another tug sunk there with only a bit of its pilot house showing.

Clyde S VanEnkenvort breaking ice

This morning while taking on a load of pellets at the CN dock in Duluth, the CSV disconnected from the Erie Trader and broke a path thru the harbor ice for their eventual heading out when loaded. Here is the track it cut, and a pix of it turning near the Aerial Bridge.

Henry P Werner

This picture is of the Henry P Werner in 1929 going under the new suspension bridge under construction between Detroit and Windsor. It was taken by my father who was a deckhand then.

Re: Wreck Tug Favorite (3)

There was a tug Favorite that was involved in the cleanup of the 1915 Eastland disaster in the Chicago river. Is this the same tug?

Evidently there was a problem with the bridge this morning, as the American Integrity made a couple of U-Turns before finally coming through this morning.

Re: Barges towed into Duluth

Then this evening the Wisconsin left Duluth with, I believe, the G-Tug Missouri in tow alongside. I should have mentioned in the last post that based on AIS, the Wisconsin likely towed those barges out of Munising.

Barges towed into Duluth

This afternoon the G-Tug Wisconsin with 3 barges in tow stopped just outside the Duluth entry, and the G-Tug Arkansas went out and got one of the barges, which it brought in to a slip where, I believe, the J F Brennan is or was based. Then the Wisconsin brought the other two barges in to the same sl...
