Just checked Marine Traffic, and Evans Spirit is upbound in Lake Huron. Destination still says Sarnia though.

Question was asked on Facebook as well. The answer was repairs. She unloaded in Thorold on Thursday June 4, and went to the anchorage that night or very early the 5th (based on what I see on AIS).

According to Google Maps, Lehigh Cement is at 525 Commissioners St. Would appear to be Lafarge.

Just read a conversation on Facebook with a crew member of the Latimer. A clutch problem. He said it would be quite a while till it's repaired. He is now working on another ship.

Tell him/her to get a Satellite subscription to Marine Traffic, and then he/she can bug them when something isn't perfect. <grin>

See she is still alongside dock in PC . Any other information what happened ie reduction gear, engine or some other equipment failure? Hopefully see her back out soon. Initially I read "clutch" problems. Since then I have read "transmission" problems. Neither are words I'm used ...

CSL St Laurent was the third downbound in the St Lawrence river section of the Seaway today. CSL Welland was first, and CSL Niagara followed her.

Heard today that the recently announced opening of March 24 has been cancelled and rescheduled to April 1 due to high water levels. Saw a comment from Algoma to the effect that the crew member was injured in the hold, but did not fall into the hold. No other details, and I can't find where I saw that comment.

That dock in Contrecoeur is a dry fertilizer plant (Yara Canada). I wish I had checked the drafts last night because now I'm wondering if the ships are loading or unloading. FYI, Ocean A Gauthier appears to be headed to Port Weller at 4:18 this morning. Also the tug Jarrett M is currebntly leaving Hamilton, headed ??? [probably not to Cornwall as her AIS says. It has said that for a couple of weeks.]

In mid Lake Ontario now (22:15), headed towards Port Weller. Don't see any tugs headed that way. Perhaps the Thursday date was when she will put into the dry dock.

Perhaps you can find it in here somewhere.
