Following comment taken from Wiki. There is no reference provided. the Fifth Welland Canal, which was planned to by-pass most of the existing canal to the east and to cross the Niagara Escarpment in 4 twinned "Panamax" locks. While land for the project was expropriated and early designs in...

Re: Canadian New Builds
This is a common question about both the CSL and Algoma fleets. The straight deckers are primarily used to haul grain and the grain elevators where they unload do not require s/u gear. Without s/u gear, these ships can haul more grain. Several years ago, I heard that the contracts with the grain com...

my experience has been that Boatnerd is such a niche site that there really isn't an issue with forum spamming. (maybe I'm wrong) I have no idea how much spam the old forum has been experiencing. Since nothing is posted on that forum without being checked by a volunteer, the amount could be nil, li...

Re: new container line halifx ns to prince edward county, on
The announcement that I found said that the container service would start in May 2021 and be bi-weekly. It appears from Marine Traffic that their ship is still in Europe, so perhaps the start has been delayed. It may be a bit early for negative comments. Hopefully this service is successful.
