No, the Boland is not underway. She was pulled away from the Mariner by the Sarter tugs...the Mariner departed...then the Boland was pushed back alongside the Blough.

If you enlarge the photo of the Boland you can see a small portion of the aft end of the Blough including part of the unloading area. I don't see a lot of damage. And if her original fire cost 13 million this must be far more than the 20 million that was a fire department guess...Sure not much news on this one.

The American Mariner. departed their Winter Lay-Up today and they are now out per the boatnerd AIS maps and page. I think their first run is up to Marquette to load for Toledo and the Torco Dock?

The Mariner is in motion!

Three Sarter tugs and the Bay Ship are holding the Boland off.

FYI..

Mariner and Boland are both tanked down this morning. Mariner may be departing this afternoon.

Thank you Guest SB.

It will be very hard to get used to seeing the old ASC river boats with GRN stacks. The Mariner, White, Boland, and Laud have all been in them since they were built.

Not the greatest photos ever...wide shot with the Boland > Mariner > Blough raft...then a close up of the Boland and Mariner stacks.

Does anybody have a photo of the new stack markings that they could share?

Thanks

It will indeed. Any word on the street about grey hills and new names anytime soon?

I would agree and would also add that I'm sure the Sam Laud and the American Courage both are also not too far behind. The Sam Laud is due to leave Toledo this week and they are due at Stoneport on April 3 to load and next week in Calcite as well to load. Saw the new stack on the White on a Facebook page. They have yet to put the GRN/LLT logo on just painted in their company colors for now at least. It will certainly look different seeing them this year with the GRN/LLT stacks instead of the ASC stacks and logos. An end of era you could say for those boats!

Just a quick note on the American Mariner.

Contrary to the news page, it is the Mariner, not the Boland, which has had her stack repainted at Bay Ship. The Boland has not yet had the same treatment, but is probably not far behind.
