Ocean has apparently taken over most, if not all, the tug assist work in Goderich. Perhaps it has something to do with that?

What does this mean for MacDonald Marine?

They have a long term dredging program on the St.Lawrence with their dredge Ocean Traverse Nord. That alone could justify the boat, but they also do contract dredging all along the St.Lawrence and beyond with their dredging fleet, which includes the former Verreault fleet.
They also do a lot of marine construction and repair.

I also see Ocean has purchased the VM/S Maisonneuve from the SLSMC (new name Ocean Maisonneuve). I wonder what use they would have for a catamaran survey vessel.

This boat is actually in Québec city and it's not a mistake. The registry port has been changed on the boat for Goderich. The ship had some modifications and it should leave for the lakes soon.

Ocean Group of Quebec City has renamed and re-registered the former Escoumins pilot boat. Built in 2001 it was originally called Cote-Nord. It has now been renamed Ocean Cote-Nord and was registered in Goderich on December 3. Unless that is an error on the Transport Canada web site, it is an odd place to register the boat.
Has anyone seen this boat on Lake Huron?
