new ice breaker

Seen the article about our Senator's pushing to get money for an additional ice breaker because of the economic loss. Is it really necessary? With many large boats heading for early lay ups seems that economic loss could have been made up this fall. No need for ice breakers but many boats have already called it a season. Seems it would make more sense to push for more money to build a new lock at the Soo just in case the Poe goes down for an extended period. Now that would be a real economic loss.
