Glad to see the work being done at the Twin Cities. Fraser did a number of lengthenings and at least two self-unloading conversions during the 1970s.

Thanks for the information garbear as I just recently saw that one too and was surprised that she ended up going to Fraser for layup as I thought she was going to be repowered from steam engines to diesel at Sturgeon Bay this winter! Am I missing something here or will they now do the work at Fraser in Superior? Not saying that it could not be done at Fraser, just surprised as I thought I read and heard it was going to be done at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. Has anyone heard or can confirm if the repowering of the Jackson now will be done at Fraser in Superior rather than at Bay Ship in Sturgeon Bay this winter? Thanks for any information.

Yes, it is being repowered at Fraser. None of the announcements ever said publicly where this would occur. People kept assuming it would be Bayship, but that was not the case.

Isn't she one of the Interlake boats slated for scrubber system installation over lay-up?

The Jackson has arrived the Twin Ports, according to duluthboats.com, for winter lay-up. She had been heading to Marquette to load. I had watched her on AIS for a couple days. She was just off Marquette, then headed north, she went North of Isle Royale, and then came down the North Shore and arrived the Twin Ports this morning.
