Goderich photo spots question

By far the best place to watch ships is at the main beach (it's on the south side of the harbour). Drive down the hill and park at any of the free public parking spots. Take a 1 minute walk over to the pier and you will be right across from freighters if they are loading at the salt mine. It's not a high up view, but it's as close as you can get. The old train station is a restaurant and there is an ice cream shop there as well.

One of my favorite places is at the upper lighthouse in Lighthouse Park. Follow West St. from the downtown area to the end of Cobourg and Lighthouse Streets. A must see, in my mind, is St. Georges Cres. near Waterloo St. N. This area overlooks the harbour. It is also where The Castle is located. This is a private residence, but it and another home across the street are amazing to see. Other than these locations the harbour offers a lot of photographic opportunities. North Harbour Rd. at the north end of town takes you to the salt mine and to the CCG station. Took me a while to find this road. When it is open the restaurant at the harbour is a great place to eat.

Down by the Goderich harbor restaurant. You can get quite close to the Algorail and if you drive a little further down the road to the salt mine(don't go too far) you can also visit the Algoway.

Behind the railroad tracks, leading into the salt mine, there is a staircase in the side of the bluff that you can climb up to a lookout.

There is also a higher up spot than that. But I haven't figured out yet where that is, or how to get to it. All I know is that I've seen photos taken from wherever that is.

You can also go to the Rotary park to get a look at any ships loading at the salt mine. Word of caution, some people found over there are just weird... Enough so, that it made me not want to go back to that spot, ever again. Results may vary.

I'm planning a trip to Goderich in the near future. Where are good places to go to get photos of the boats in the harbor? I'd really like to get shots of the Algoway and Algorail if possible. Any help is appreciated...I've never been there before so detailed info is a great help!
