Thanks Garbear. I started my sailing career on Hallet #5 when I boarded the Detroit Edison there on July 7, 1979. They off-loaded stone at Hallet #5 and then moved over and loaded taconite that I think went to Indiana Harbor.

A lot of it goes to the mines where it's used in the manufacture of pellets. Sugar stone goes to western MN and the Dakotas where it's used to process sugar beets.

Where does all the aggregate that is unloaded on Hallet dock #5 go to? Lake freighters have been bringing cargo to that dock for decades.
