Monday around noon saw the Sykes being towed into the graving dock. The Sykes went into the dock, with the tug Joyce VanEnkevorti still in the dock as well.

Tanked down = filled up ballast tanks to get down to a deeper draft.
Must be a trade school term - Sailed 38 years and never heard the term before!

The John J Boland has tanked down this morning. She should be the next to leave Bay Ship.

The Alpena was headed out from Green Bay today, took a hard right and followed the Mobile Bay through the ship canal.

I will post a picture shortly...much nicer day than yesterday!

Glad to hear it is appreciated!

Seems the Joyce L VanEnkevort stayed in dock.

I heard the Wilfred Sykes might be next up in the dock.

Update...

The Munson has turned around and is heading back...going out the ship canal?

The Sarter tugs are moving the Miner/Boland back, having finished with the Herbert C Jackson.

Sturgeon Bay Activity

Busy day today...

The Sarter tugs did some shuffling around this morning and some undocking this afternoon.

Moved - the raft of Mesabi Miner and John J Boland aft to clear berths 8 and 9.

Moved - the barge Maumee, without tug Victory, from berth 8.5 to berth 10.

Departed - John G Munson left Bay Ship at around 15:00 and headed out to the bay of Green Bay.

Undocked - the Herbert C Jackson was undocked and slotted in on berth 8.

Undocked - (not actually happened yet) the Joyce L VanEnkevort will come out of the dock next.

Then...I assume the Maumee gets put back in at 8.5...maybe the Miner/Boland moved forward again.
