Superior/BNSF is also the main loading port for the pellets going to QC for trans-shipment overseas and CSL loads to Hamilton. Earlier in the year they were the main supplier of pellets for Cliffs Toledo Ironville plant but since mid June that has primarily switched to the DR pellets coming out of Silver Bay now.

BNSF docks in Superior ship pellets that are manufactured at Hibbing Taconite Plant ( Managed by Clevelend Cliffs) and shipped to Burns Harbor.
Northshore Mining draws its ore from the Peter Mitchell Mine in Babbit Minnesota and it's processed on site in Silver Bay. The ore body that they draw from is the Biwabik Iron Formation but the composition of the ore is different so processing is also different. The Northshore Mining operation produces DR ( Direct Reduction) grade pellelts whereas the Hibbing Taconite operation produces the traditional style pellets. Both shipments are heading to Burns Harbor Indiana.

I see that the Cort is making a rare visit to Silver Bay. Is the iron ore different than the one from Superiorz?
