The "70 Years Strong" decals on the Clarke and Anderson commemorate 70 years with the fleet, not the number of seasons of service ( neither vessel had 70 seasons of service in 2022 when the decals were applied due to periods of layup). This is why the Munson hasn't received the same decal despite being the same age; she's only been with the fleet for 57 years.

Also, it is worth noting that in addition to the Anderson the Philip R. Clarke also has the 70th year emblem painted on the rails or around its pilot house as well too! Each vessel, the Anderson and Clarke had these emblems put on to commemorate their 70th anniversary sailing in the 2022 season when each ship respectively celebrated their 70th anniversary season. Also, the Presque Isle has had a 50 year logo on the tug portion since last year when they were celebrating their 50th season sailing on the Great Lakes. The Kaye E. Barker had a large banner just for the 2022 season when she too celebrated their 70th year and season! Alpena each season has had an emblem painted on their pilothouse. This year it is the number 82 and it reads 1942-2024 for 82 years of sailing. I don’t know now how long the Alpena has been doing this as far as the number emblem goes? Hope this information helps out.
