Thankyou that is good info. I found a youtube video but I don't like to have to learn that way. it is too slow.

download or view NOAA Chart #1. It is an index of the hundreds of symbols, lines and other markings on US charts. Canadian and most other charts use similar symbols.

The stretched teardrops symbols are lights. See section P on chart #1

There are a lot of Symbols on the map. Can someone point me to some information on what the symbols mean? How to find a ships current location?
MOSTLY looking for help with map reading and the symbols. Like those stretched teardrop things
