In 2018 the Boland and White did a number of trips up the Cuyahoga River to the steel mill, perhaps aided by high water levels. The Mariner, however, could not make this run. I don’t think that the Boland or White were built with the Cuyahoga River in mind though, since the smaller river-class ships were built during that same era.

It is my understanding that the John J Boland, H Lee White and American Mariner were built to the same basic design, except that each ship was built to a different length. Was there a reason for the, are there ports the Boland or H Lee White can access that the American Mariner cannot?
