Re: Atlantic Huron
They departed from their lay up in Goderich early this morning on September 16 and are now headed to Sandusky to load next. Hope that this information helps out.

She’s still in Goderich at this time but her AIS destination has changed to Sandusky with an ETA of September 15. Looks like she may be back on the move soon.

Re: Atlantic Huron
It doesn’t look like she has been sold yet, she has an ETA of 9/15 to load coal in Sandusky.

Re: Atlantic Huron
Anyone able to confirm the rumor that the Huron has been sold for scrap and will be sent to Aliaga?

Re: Atlantic Huron
Compass to my knowledge anyway is still in Sarnia laid up at the North Slip. Interesting that in 2024 she spent a considerable amount of time laid up in Sarnia as well. She sailed from Port Weller Drydock and went to Sarnia for layup in April 2024 and later returned to service in September 2024 then! Don’t like to hear about the possibility of Atlantic Huron maybe at the end of the line and her career as well. I’ve seen her on the St. Clair River many times boatnerds! But, you won’t ever believe this. Of all the times, trips and vacations I’ve taken to the Soo NEVER ever one time did I not see her while at the Soo! Not once did I ever see Atlantic Huron at the Soo nor did I ever see her at the Welland Canal either in the few times and trips I made there!

Re: Atlantic Huron
The certificate referred to in Transport Canada’s registry is the Certificate of Registry which is completely unrelated to drydocking and class survey. This was explained to me by someone working for a shipping company. For example, the Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin was just drydocked this year and TC shows its certificate of registry expiring next May.

Not sure where you’re seeing that info. Her last five-year was in 2020.

I find that hard to believe when her certification is good until 2030, unless there was a recent mechanical or structural issue
