Westboro Church consists of the Fred Phelps family who are a bunch of attorneys that get their money from law suits. The Patriot Guard group was formed in response to those whack jobs.Guest wrote:As far as the Westboro Church goes, I would like to know who provides these people with funds. The money has to come from somewhere, or else they wouldn't be able to travel the country spreading their hate. Anyone who contributes any kind of financial support to this group is the real villian, however, as if they were not receiving these funds (which must be significant), this group would be little more than an unknown group of fanatics. It does not matter whether you are talking about this group or Al-Queda, if you can cut-off their funding, they will not be able to operate.

The mark of true Christians is love, compassion, kindness, etc. If the report can be believed, anyone demonstrating like that (with or without church affiliation) is not following Christ's teachings. "Jesus went about doing good" -- not organizing protest marches -- and he offered friendship to those society rejected.

As if the people in Newtown haven't had a bad enough week, and the poor families that lost little children and loved ones, now this has come up (see story below). It's unthinkable! If I could get away, I would love to be in a wall of people to keep a gap between the mourners and the Westboro Church group!
Can two wrongs make a right? Westboro Baptist Church, the vicious anti-gay group that pickets the funerals of soldiers and AIDS victims, recently declared it will protest at the burials of the children slain in Newtown, Conn. In response, the hacker group Anonymous posted personal information of church members online, including phone numbers, home and email addresses. The law gives us all the right to some privacy, but when the Westboro Church's stance on the shooting is to "sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment," do they deserve what they get?

I cannot believe the news media putting pictures of the victims especially the children on TV and yet after the shooting walking up to the young children that did survive and ask them questions? Give me a break people haven't these poor children suffered enough trauma in their lives without having the news media hound them for an interview? My thoughts and prayers are with the familes as they prepare to bury their loved ones and children this week. May God bless all of them and help comfort them this week.

I have a strong dislike for those who invade the homes of victims and try to get a story. Leave the poor families alone!wlbblw wrote:I'm so disgusted I don't even want to watch a news report or read a paper. I don't know who to be mad at first. Re: School shooting
I had the same questions. GMA is reporting this morning the gunman shot out the glass in a window/door to enter the school building. As horrific a tragedy this is, it’s also numbing that our efforts for entrance security into our schools is useless against such firepower.

Re: School shooting
My qody can get ino buestion is how did this guy get in to the school? Most schools lock the doors so nobody can get in. Even in a small town like I reside in the doors are locked so you can get out but not in. A lot of crazy people out there. If he wanted to kill someone why didn't he just kill himself and leave the kids and adults alone. May God go with all those involved.

This is an incredibly horrible situation. Why go after little innocent children and the people that are part of influencing these little children into being good conrtibuters to society. There are many good people in society, but unfortunately we have too many bad ones too. Gocd bless the little ones and adults and their families.

26 dead, 20 little children. I'll never begin to understand what would be going through a persons mind to do something like this. What a dark Holiday season these folks are going to have. RIP little ones.
