Re: Duluth Hotels
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, had a great time. I will have to try the Anchor Bar next visit when there's more time.
Re: Duluth Hotels
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Superior across from Barker's Island. Not necessarily the cheapest but cheaper than Duluth. And I agree about the Anchor Bar. A must visit (if you're not a vegetarian!).

Re: Duluth Hotels
I definitely would consider Superior. I haven't stayed there in awhile so can give current lodging recommendations. But you definitely want to go to the Anchor Bar for the best burger in town. Plus a nautical decor.
Re: Duluth Hotels
Another option is to stay in Superior, cheaper and less traffic. I've stayed at the Manning Motel on Belknap St, right off the Bong Bridge. Nothing fancy but clean, inexpensive, and its been quiet every time I stayed there. Also check out the Thirsty Pagan Brew Pub in downtown Superior. Great beer and reuben sandwiches.

Re: Duluth Hotels
be sure that you have a room reserved. the city will be filled with people attending the Christmas City of the North parade and the opening of the Bentleyville Christmas lights display.

Re: Duluth Hotels
If you dont mind stepping back in time to the orange of the 1970s and are just looking for a bed and bathroom, try the Chalet, its cheap and acceptable, 40 bucks or so a night last time i stayed.

Anyone know a good place in Duluth myself and a buddy can stay for Friday night on a college budget?
