Many people are working hard to find another location for the marine mart that is both large enough and economically feasible. I am confident there will be a marine mart next year, although it likely won't be at the Bean Dock.
Acheson Ventures, the owners of the Bean Dock/Seaway terminal, has provided this great venue to the museum for Free for many years, including Acheson's security force and utilities. It is Not asking the museum for any money, the Port Huron Museum has decided the little money they make from the vendor's (entrance is free) doesn't merit the use of their employees or volunteers and will not sponsor the event in the future. The future of the Bean Dock is up in the air at this point and the last booking they have for it is a wedding next spring. It was only through the generosity of Jim Acheson that this mart became the great event it is today. The Lake Huron Lore, the original and continuing sponsor of this mart are trying to find another location for it for next June and are very optimistic this will happen. As soon as things are confirmed, this site will be the first to know.

The Port Huron Marine Mart is a event that I look forward to ever year. It is great the they had it right on the river. Since I can remember, admission has been free. Only the vendors are charged. Why can't the Port Huron Museum charge for admission to help pay for the rent?

Just heard that the Pt Huron Museum pulled their sponsorship of this event due to economic reasons & it's future is in doubt. After 28 years I hope something gets worked out where it can still be held somewhere.
