Quite an interesting morning on the St. Clair River...before the high winds moved in!

Another gorgeous day, but with a chilly breeze, so fewer people were out and about at the river.

Ship traffic was nicely spaced through the day.

Yesterday's high was 75°, and tonight's low is forecast to be in the mid 20°s! A very strange day weather-wise (Mother Nature's idea of April Fools) but a very colorful parade of ships day brightened my spirits.

Strong thunderstorms passed over last night. Afterward, skies cleared for a few hours. Then came the fog! But by 09:00,we began seeing the promise of a really great day, weather-wise. The afternoon high was over 70°! People flocked out to enjoy the sunshine and the river. As you will see, ship traffic was pretty steady all day, so much so that I'll post only vessel name and destination tonight!

I've been keeping my distance from the river -- too many people (in groups) walking, so I'll let them do their thing and not take chances, now that the rules of safe distancing have been revised -- again.
If clouds hadn't moved in late this afternoon, I would have two more ships to post, but light was too low for good results.

Gorgeous day! I'm grateful these ships are still moving cargo and their crews have employment.

Sunny skies, deep turquoise water, a bit of wind to keep the temperature on the cool side...and lots of folks out enjoying the day in their favorite way. River traffic was part of the panorama.

Today's traffic was anything but an April Fool's joke! I was at the river on and off from 07:15 to 15:30, happily following or intercepting the passing vessels.

One lone ship -- delayed by the gale warnings -- this morning.

Join me on a St. Clair River adventure unlike any I've ever experienced! The key elements are ships, fog, wind, and unseen spring peepers serenading along the way!

Despite on-and-off rains, ship traffic was really moving on the St. Clair River today!

Another Noah's Ark day -- two-by-two! Several passed in the dark hours and at least one more won't make it by sunset today.

Another misty day along the St. Clair River but boat traffic is definitely picking up.

A very quiet day on the St. Clair River, with a promise of more the next few days. Since outdoor activities/exercise (using the 6' distancing from others) is allowed, chasing/intercepting ships is my exercise!

Today was all about tug/barge units. Joyce VanEnkevort passed Marysville in the dark hours, or she would have led the parade while Edwin H. Gott was delayed past dark because of fueling in Detroit.
