Cleveland Activity
Re: Cleveland Activity
Yesterday afternoon was a tough day for Cleveland. There were several multinational attacks from air and sea.
The Japanese came in low!
The Brittish showed as well
Here is one wave of Canadian paratroopers during the raids
We are waiting to see what flag is flying over City Hall this morning!
Re: Cleveland Activity
Thanks for the update Beecher!
It looks like good Spring with nice floating scenery there. I just put the winter bike in the overhaul stand and got the road bike out in Minneapolis.
Cheers

I'll bet they'll be talking about this experience for years to come, Beecher.
Such a relief to know they're homeward bound. God bless 'em!!

Re: Cleveland Activity
We just saw the Neah Bay exit Cleveland Harbor with a TV 8 Chopper in tow.
I see the Anderson made it to Detroit. Hope everyone is well. I'd like to hear their chatter of this trip from hell when it is over.

Re: Cleveland Activity
Looks like he is going to Detroit now.
Re: Cleveland Activity
Thanks Shirl. Ashtabula County was around -30*f. I can see why the Anderson has abandoned the visit there. The ice packed up on them too.
The Anderson and Risley look as though they are headed for Cleveland. The Bristol Bay is not far off from here. I'll try and get some pictures to post here.
Back to cooking my special beef stew. Mmmm, Cheers!

Happy belated Valentine's Day to you, Beecher.
We here in southern OH are in almost as bad a shape as up north. Looks like the whole state of Ohio has been dumped into a deep freeze! Hurry Springtime! :<

Cleveland Activity
Happy belated Valentines Day. We went to dinner last night at The Harp on Detroit Avenue with the front row seat overlooking Lake Erie & the entrance to Cleveland Harbor. I had the Steak Boxty Cake. Delicious!
The snow came pretty hard for a while and visibility was very low. The lighthouses drifted in and out of view. We could see the Manitowoc & Defiance in the old river channel in layup. We could see the Defiance was detached from her tug. The drive back revealed the Alpena a little further east.
We saw the westbound shoreway was closed due to a vehicular pile up as we ate. They were busy-busy clearing the shoreway out. Yesterday was not the day for driving on Ohio freeways and Turnpike. The Lake effect snow turned day into night at times along the river.
We had the delicious Harp doggy bag this morning. Looking out the window here is convincing for us to stay in for the day. The river thawed here over the last few days and is now freezing quickly. See the evaporation 4' high here. The mills on the horizon are still producing. The gulls are active as always. The train rails are extra noisy. It is -2*f in the sun now.
Cheers.
