She was definitely headed south. Mutiny by crew wanting to go where it's warmer?

"Tomorrow morning" came, with sunny skies that lasted two hours! But, as the morning continued to unfold, clouds moved out, in, out, and in again! Sunshine and ship traffic was well timed for me.

Winds have died down, the bottleneck at the Soo has ended and traffic is beginning to move on the St. Clair River. Of course several vessels I hoped to catch in daylight will come through in dark hours but if the sun is with us, I'm already anticipating tomorrow morning...

Skies are clearing, but a ferocious wind threatens to blow my little house apart any minute!
AIS shows no vessels moving on either the Detroit or St. Clair Rivers, although a few are making their way across western Lake Erie.
PRT, KEB, Algoma Innovator, Algoma Buffalo, and Presque Ilse are in the Sarnia Anchorage (as of 11:25 12-30-2019).

Yesterday's cloudy, windy weather has been replaced with moderate rain -- which I'll take over ice and snow -- but I'll not be going out today, so here are several captures from yesterday.

Today's photos -- as are all I post to this thread -- are not only for Boatnerds but also for both current and former Great Lakes sailors, their families and their friends. Especially for those going about your duties on a freighter, tug, tanker, or other vessel, during the holidays, this is my MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!

Another delightfully spring-like day drew me to the river and kept me outside in other ways!

Sunny, cold, and a good flow of both water and traffic on the St. Clair River.

There was an amazing amount of traffic on the river between sunset and sunrise, but I caught these three vessels late yesterday afternoon and this morning.

Being at the river, aware of the sky's cloud textures & colors as I watch the ships and listen to the sounds of their engines and the water as they push through it -- that's good medicine for me. Knowing that I'm not facing a serious health issue -- and the prayers and support of so many Boatnerds -- gives me a lot to be thankful for. Bless you all!!

I second you Paul and agree! Great to see ya back in action Bookworm but still be careful. You might feel well today but the next day or days you might start to feel it if you know what I mean no pun intended on that one! Glad to see you back though. Enjoy your posts and photos. Merry Christmas to you. God Bless and 3 Long and 2 Short and think of it as therapy being out on the river. Take care and don’t over do it!
