Saw the Joseph H. Thompson Jr. and barge Joseph H. Thompson on the St. Clair River today September 7, 2019 perhaps for the last and final time for these two now the tug Laura L. Van Enkevort is supposed to be soon pushing the barge. Sorry for asking this but what then will happen to the tug Joseph H. Thompson Jr. once the tug Laura L. Van Enkevort starts to push the Joseph H. Thompson? Will the Laura L. Van Enkevort eventually end up pushing the new barge Michigan Trader someday? Any information is appreciated. Thanks so very much in advance. Also the Thompson had stone from Stoneport for Toledo I forgot to mention earlier in this post.

Laura VanEnkevort is off Long Point at 800pm Sept 7 bound for Toledo. I see Joseph H. Thompson Jr./Joseph H. Thompson is downbound Port Huron the afternoon of Sept 7 enroute to Toledo. Laura VanEnkevort is said to take over Joseph H. Thompson. Is Joseph H. Thompson going to get a major rebuild before connecting to Michigan Trader? Also, wondering if Joseph H. Thompson Jr. will be renamed along with Joseph H. Thompson. What about Huron Trader for the barge?

Laura VanEnkevort upbound Welland Canal between Thorold and Welland, near Allanburg, at 130pm Sept 7 enroute to Toledo.

200am Sept 7 and Laura VanEnkevort is upbound on Lake Ontario, a few hours out of the Canal. Currently, a bit of a backlog is indicated at the Canal.

Laura VanEnkevort is in Montreal in the Old Port area.

About quarter to three in the AM on Sept 5, Laura VanEnkevort is between Three Rivers and Sorel. Probably in Montreal well before the end of the day.

It was announced months ago the barge would be named Michigan Trader.

Thanks for the update and correction. I obviously missed that announcement!

Laura L. VanEnkevort just north of Halifax, NS, headed northbound toward Canso Strait, very early Monday morning Sept 1.

Laura L. VanEnkevort north of Virginia Beach and approaching Atlantic City. Due Montreal Sept 3 and Toledo Sept 8. As reported, replacing Joseph H. Thompson, Jr. as tug for Joseph H. Thompson.

New VanEnkevort tug due Montreal Sept 3. Vessel info indicates it's enroute to Toledo.
