Tim as I mentioned in my previous post though, just because the Bears stink at 5-8 and have to play yet on MNF do not count them out yet. Also, it seems people forget that Detroit finished at 7-1 at home while their road record is 3-3 so far. My point again is that Detroit at least in the past, has not played as well on the road as they do at home. The Lions just seem to have this mental thing in their head that "we can't play outdoors and away from home and Ford Field and before then the Silverdome!" Also, yeah both teams are great this year and 10-4 with Detroit being in first place but I want to see if they can hold onto to it heading to Green Bay which they probably will. Finally, to be one of the best you gotta beat the best meaning Green Bay at Lambeau something the Lions have not done in more than 20 years! I am still going with the Pack at home in that game as they are tough to beat at home.

Well the Lions pulled one out for a win over the Vikings and Green Bay blew it against Buffalo. So like I said before it's going to come down to the last game of the year to prove who is best in the North. Should be a very good game winner take all Lions/Packers.

Darn it I did not get to watch the Army-Navy game this year as I always do but, didn't miss anything though as Navy kept the streak going and beat Army once again 17-10 I think it was? I don't see why they even play this game as Navy owns them and has beaten them soundly every year for I don't know how long? The Army team should just forfeit that game to Navy since they beat them every season. Still it is fun to watch all of the pomp and stuff like that as it is rich in tradition though. As for Pro Football games this weekend (my favorite to watch), I am looking most forward to the Eagles-Cowboys game on Sunday night. How I want to see those Eagles beat the Cowboys and knock them out of the Playoff hunt as I hate the Cowboys and Tony Romo. My pick for the Super Bowl this year is the Patriots vs the Pack and I gotta go with the Pats and Brady to win it! Let's face it folks as long as you have the combo of Brady and Belichick, this team is unstoppable IMO and I just don't see anybody going up to New England and beating them including Peyton and the Broncos. Now, if the Super Bowl should be the Seahawks vs the Patriots then it could go either way then!

Hopefully the Lions offensive line is ready for the game because the Vikes have developed a potent pass rush. If the Lions are over-confident, I can see them losing.

Tim- We may get a chance to see if Ziggy can really replace Suh this weekend. Sports news reports that Suh is sick and missed practice today ( Friday ) with the Lions. Suh may not play this weekend if he remains on the sick list.

Looks like a 11-5 season for the Lions this year. What does everyone think about the Lions ability to keep Suh ?
Michigan born and raised, living in Duluth for 35 years, I'm still loyal to my Michigan teams, even though my Son, Daughter, and Son-in-Law laugh at me. So any time you want to post your opinions on MI teams, I'll read and probably reply.
Doubt if the Lions can keep Suh. I see both Detroit papers are already running articles about college players that will be in the next draft who could be possible replacements. I've been a Lions fan since the days of Milt Plum at qb and Pat Studstill at wr.

I still wonder how the Cards ended up being the top seeded team in the NFC Playoff picture? First they lose their QB Carson Palmer for the season with a torn ACL then, last night former MSU star QB Drew Stanton goes down with a knee injury. The Cards will be very lucky if they even make it to the playoffs this season. Right now they are in first place in the NFC West but, they also play at home next weekend against the Seahawks. With their injuries at QB, I don't see the Cards holding on to first place in the NFC West as I see the Hawks and their great defense winning and eventually them moving up to first place. I am glad though I am not a fan of any NFC South team as you talk about a sick division their with teams all below 500 right now! You may have a team from the South with a 7-9 or worse 6-10 record and yet make the playoffs! Go figure as this is one bad and screwed up division in my view.

I think even if we do lose Suh to free agency Ziggy Ahnsa is ready to step in and replace him. Would I like to see Suh stay?, Yes but I doubt that he will.

The Lions are 9-4 with 3 games to go. The worst finish possible would be 9-7; 8-8 is impossible.

Looks like the u of m hunt for a football coach has changed from San Fran to LSU. Tonight's sports news has Miles given the nod to straighten out the mess in Ann Arbor. A few of the football players at u of m are transferring to another school or testing the waters in the pros. I think the luster of being a coach at u of m has lost it's shine. Who in their right mind would want to take on that job ?
Lions can't finish 8-8. Hard to believe, but they've already won 9 games this year. As far as the U of M job, that one's a toss-up. I know when I started following the Wolverines in the mid-60's they weren't always good, but I agree, the program has lost it's shine. I see there are now high school players from MI who had verbally committed to MI now changing their minds and committing to Ohio State.

I see now a second Big 10(14) school is now looking for a new head football coach. Gary Andersen left Wisconsin for Oregon State. See how that affects the U of MI in their search for a new coach.

Hope you're right. My son comes over every Sunday for dinner and football. He's a big Vikings fan and he really rubs it in when the Lions lose and he laughs at what's going on with U of MI football.

Being a Lions/U of MI fan in Duluth for 35 yrs. hasn't been easy. I've watched a lot of the Vikings games this year. Don't sell the Vikings short. I know the Lions beat the Vikings here in MN early this season, but the Vikes have been playing some good, tough football. I expect the Lions to win, but they'd better not sleep on the Vikings this time around or they'll be looking at a loss.

Okay for all you Lions and Pack fans out there, take a look at the schedule for the next three weeks and decide for yourself who will get the NFC North crown? The Pack won last night vs the Falcons at Lambeau 43-37 yet they gave up 30 points to the Falcons in the second half. However, the Pack led the Falcons 31-7 at the half though. The Pack schedule looks like this as they are on the road at Buffalo and Tampa Bay. Two easily winnable games for the Pack and then they wrap up their season at home against the Lions which is winnable as well since the Pack have not lost to the Lions at home since 1991 or 1992 and always play well at home. The Lions have Minnesota at home on Sunday and they are now surging at 6-7 and then travel to Chicago and Green Bay. Point is the Lions should be able to win their next two at least however, I see the Bears game as being a possible loss. Why you ask? It is simple, as it is outdoors in the cold and wind of Chicago and the Lions are a dome team and don't play well outdoors in the cold! This to me, just spells doom to the Lions I don't care how good or bad each team has been so far this year. Just my thoughts only.

With 35 college bowl games this year - lots of enjoyable football will be played. I'm still hoping that my MSU will beat Baylor in the sugar bowl. I wish OSU good luck in their game with Bama but, meyer will need to pull another bunny from his hat.

I agree Tim however, the Lions still have to travel on the road to Chicago and play the Bears and then Green Bay to wrap up their season. They also play I think it is Minnesota at home next week as well. Point is, they should beat the Vikes (sorry Vikings fans) but that is where it gets tough. Yeah, they should beat the Bears but that game is outdoors in the cold and wind along with playing in December. To me, that sounds like trouble and a tough game to play especially outdoors! Finally, the last game at Lambeau will be tough for the Lions. Keep in mind and remember, they have not beaten the Pack in GB since 1991 or 1992 and the Pack have put up tons of points this year while the Lions a few times have barely won a few games! The Lions don't play well away from home and to be an elite team, you have to play well both at home and away!
