Thanks again to everyone who made it - a great gathering with good company and a great way to spend a snowy Sunday afternoon. I think the most ironic part about our obligatory Boatnerd snowstorm was that we drove all the way from Aitkin without seeing a snowflake until we were about 1 mile from the Canal Park on the freeway!

We had a great time! and I always meet new great Boatnerds! but like Tanya Tuckers ( Rain Man Song) You don't have to keep that fire burning! or beat that drum!,All We have to do is plan a Boatnerd gathering! and We can make a Snow Storm! We were looking around at Superior and it was nice! as soon as We sat Down at Grandmas Garden and that triggered the snow, So We didn't get any locals but We got to meet some hard core traveler's!,and that made it a success!, and the server's at Grandma's Gardens were very accommodating, and they gave Us a whole section and they have great food!
Ray and I are going to a Scuba Diving event at the Double Tree in Bloomington MN.next Saturday the 25 th. maybe We will meet some more Boatnerds there!
Until next year!, have a great time watching the freighters break out this week! mn brett

Made it even though there was a strange storm that came through over the week end. The far west side of Duluth got 13 inches of snow, Superior 9 inches and the rest of town essentially a trace or nothing. Good to visit with like boat enthusiasts!

Just a reminder that in addition to moving your clocks ahead - Sunday is also the day of the Duluth Winter Boatnerd gathering. Despite that prospect that history may repeat itself with snow, hope to see everyone at Grandma's Sports Garden Sunday afternoon. (Starting at 1pm.)

Duluth Winter Boatnerd gathering - March 12!

As we run down the last few weeks of winter until the boats start moving again on Lakes Superior, it sounds like there is quite a bit of interest both on and off list in getting together again in Duluth. So, how about March 12, starting at 1pm at Grandma's Sports Garden down in Canal park. (425 S. Lake Ave.) It's across the street and about a block north of the original Grandmas.
We'll keep it informal -everyone can pay for whatever they want to eat or drink 1pm till as long as people want to stay (Or till they kick us out.) If you have pictures or other stuff that would be of interest to others - please bring it!
Informal - so no RSVP's required - but it would be handy to have an idea of who can make it so we have an idea of how big of a table to get when we get there.
Hope to see some familiar faces and some new ones on the 12th!
