The Essayons will eventually have to be raised. There are no environmental issued with the tug, but the dock owners will not let her remain on the bottom where there is good dock space to be used. It is an opportunity cost to the owners, what if in the future a vessel asks to dock there, but wait they can't because of a sunken tug? It will cost the owner of the tug either ownership or $, but it will not remain on the bottom. The County has got involved now so I believed it will be raised in the next few years.

Was the tug Essayons ever raised after she sank in Duluth or is she still on the bottom?
