With a strong NW to NE wind it is almost impossible to get into Gary. Plus the surges in the slip can prevent a boat from unloading.

Just looked at the Grand Haven webcam at 7PM and she's moving to the sw.

Just drove past her (4:30 pm Apr 30). Still on the hook. Blowing, yes, but sitting on the west coast of Michigan with a north west wind isn't really hiding from anything. Lights are on. No real trace of exhaust from the stack.
Just weird. Don't recall ever seeing a boat hang around out there.
Ah well.......

Just checking Marine Traffic and it looks like McCarthy passed her going north

Possibly could be waiting on weather. Michipicoten anchored near St. Ignace for 2 days heading for Muskegon and PRT anchored near the Straits heading for Indiana Harbor.

Looks like the McCarthy is way north of grand haven heading towards the straights.

They are at anchor due to gales. Can't go into Gary with WX like this.

I noted Indiana Harbor was hardly a mile off shore just north of Grand Haven this morning (Apr 29). As of 12:30am the 30th, it appears the Walter McCarthy is heading her way and is about an hour away.
If they are there in the morning, we'll be heading up to see what's going on.
Anybody hear anything ?
