Thanks for the info. I was primarily interested in what wire rigged was, but your Bark definition is very informative.

I have never heard that term used?

Thanks.
A bark, or also spelled "barque", is a three-masted sailing vessel with the fore and main masts square-rigged, and the mizzen mast fore and aft rigged.

Thanks for the reply. I suspected that was the case, but my suspicions have a way of messing with the facts, so I wanted confirmation.

A bark is a style of sailing ship. Wire rigged would indicate that the rigging holding the masts was wire rope instead of a natural fiber rope.

In the "this day in history" section of the news, 10/4, it states that the British Lion was the first Bark on the lakes to be wire rigged.

I have never heard that term used?
