Bottom line. It's cheaper to build in China.

Canada does not have a equivalent to the Jones Act. Local yards on both sides of the border cannot compete cost wise to a shipyard that will build a quality product for a third of the price. At the end of the day all that matters is the numbers at the bottom of a spreadsheet. Organized labor comes at a cost...
