This has been discussed before. I believe it is related in Skip Gillham's book "Seaway Era Shipwrecks." I'm sure someone out there will have a synopsis of the accident.

Came across this AP Wirephoto of the Standard Portland Cement and the August Ziesing ater a collision supposedly on Lake Huron on the 20th of May 1960.
