These loads out of the BNSF usually go to Burns Harbor.

A correction to my post from earlier as I see now on Harbor Lookout that she is now due at Superior to load on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at the BNSF Ore Dock.

Anything mentioned on where that load may be going to? It is not too often they load in Superior. I see on Harbor Lookout's website though, they are scheduled back up to Two Harbors to load again.

The Sykes will be loading ore in Superior sometime soon, according to their official Instagram account

It will be interesting to see if Cliffs becoming involved in its operation has an affect on its usual trading patterns.
As seems to be the trend for the Sykes the last few years now, she does 1-2 Lake Superior trips in the spring then returns to her normal Lake Michigan stone and slag runs until the end of the year when the stone docks close, then at that time she may do another few ore loads. With Cliffs in the deal now, that may change.

Thanks Garbear & Denny, hope she is still coming to Two Harbors and her destination doesn't change. Hope to be in Two Harbors when she gets there.

Thanks for the update, Denny. I wasn't aware of problems with the Sykes. Yes, those departure & arrival times are not to be taken with a lot of confidence. Gale warnings were up on Lake Superior last night, things appear to be calming down a bit now.

Ed, check out the thread for Sturgeon Bay departures just below here a little bit. There’s mention in it that the Sykes had a mechanical problem of some sort and they’d be delayed upon departure. Once they have the problem fixed then they will be departing at that point. Also I wouldn’t go by the Harbor Lookout site too for ETAs as you never can tell as far as with the weather. We’re supposed to see and get high winds here in the Detroit area this weekend so, I’m sure that will slow things down and cause some delays. At any rate, just happy to see the ships return and the start of the new season. Take care be safe and all the best to you in 2021!

Under Sturgeon Bay departures it says she had mechanical issues and will depart when fixed.
