Seems to have been some type of momentary steering gear failure, although it appears the Sykes did make it down to tie up at Marysville without assistance after spending some time anchored in the lake. Although another poster indicated it was going into the Bean Dock, it appears on Marinetraffic that it actually went to the Blue Water Aggregates dock. Perhaps waiting for the delivery of spare parts or undergoing further repair? Interestingly, a photo posted to the Port Reports page appears to show the crew having access to land via a ladder secured to the unloading boom, which is swung out at about a 45-degree angle. What is the Sykes carrying?

Has anyone heard if there was any bottom damage from this incident? I know it has been reported that the Sykes did not go aground but it seems likely it would have touched the bottom as it swung around just above the entrance to the St. Clair River, which I believe is mostly sandy in that area.

Looks like she broke down again, she's turned about and looks to be heading to the bean dock

Looking at her track on Marine Traffic, it looks like she started the turn at 1 & 2 and just kept turning. Her steering must have failed with right wheel on.
