Carrying Capacity Question

Hi all, I have a question regarding the ways by which different sources measure a vessel's carrying capacity. For example, Know Your Ships, the American Bureau of Shipping, and other sources list the ASC Bay Ship 1,000-footers as having the same midsummer draft carrying capacity; however, the Lake Carrier's Association's "Fleet" page states that some of these vessels have different per-trip carrying capacity and capacity per foot of draft. The LCA measurements appear to be taken in a different type of tons than the other sources, but still, I'm confused as to why some of these metrics would be different among ships that supposedly have identical tonnage and draft stats according to other sources.
