Burns Harbor and American Century

Unread post by Guest »

Does anyone know why the Burns Harbor and American Century have been staying put in Duluth even though other vessels (Edwin H. Gott, Edgar B. Speer, Dirk S. VanEnkevort) have kept moving on Lake Superior? The Gott, Speer, and Dirk have been hugging the shore to avoid the worst of the conditions, but one figures that the ASC footers would be able to do the same. Of note, the Duluth/Superior harbor scanner caught the Century and tug Missouri talking on Saturday morning regarding when the footer would depart BNSF. The Century said something about waiting until at least Sunday morning due to a closed channel (?), though the sound was breaking up and I didn't catch all of it. Does anybody know more about this? Thanks!
