Night time hours you should be able receive Weather broadcasts from Canadian East Coast Stations.
Here is a list of stations and frequencies. Halifax Coast Guard might be your best station.

I want to see if the unused MF/HF radio that is on the tug I am on works. Does anyone know of any marine broadcasts that you can pick up from the lakes?
