Ric Mixter Book

Recently purchased his book on the Fitzgerald and I'm enjoying it. He seems to have done his diligence in his research. From questions about the health of the Fitz's keel to other issues, it raises eyebrows as to the overall seaworthiness of the ship as a whole. Then again, the Coast Guard signed off on her inspections. I do believe that there was work to be done during the 1975 offseason, but the USCG allowed her to sail anyway. Interesting read.
